The first thing I want to say is, “Thank you.” Thank you to everyone who listens to HODINKEE Radio, thank you to the incredible guests who sit in front of microphones with us to tell their stories, and thank you to my awesome HODINKEE colleagues who are all a part of this show. It’s crazy to think that we’re two years and 100 episodes into this adventure, and I can honestly say that making HODINKEE Radio has been, and continues to be, one of the most rewarding and exciting things I’ve ever done professionally.
We’re informally calling the last year of episodes our second season, and now seemed like a great time to highlight our favorite moments from those shows. Grey and I sifted through hours and hours of audio and finally settled on things like astronaut Nicole Stott talking about her NASA-issued watches, a behind-the-scenes look at an epic Antiques Roadshow find, and comedian Jeff Garlin talking about how his love of watches stemmed from a backstage encounter with none other than Jerry Seinfeld. This was also the season where we kicked off the HODINKEE Fantasy Drafts, so we’ll dig into those a bit, and I’ve also listed a few of my favorite watches that have shown up on-wrist in the studio (or virtual studio, as it were).
Trying to figure out what to include here might be the hardest thing I’ve had to do since we launched the show in the summer of 2018. I found myself pulling a moment or two out of nearly every episode. Luckily, Grey’s here to actually produce the show and keep me from giving you a 20-hour episode to get through on a Monday morning. Be sure to let us know your favorite moments from the last 50 episodes down in the comments, and also be sure to check out the show notes to revisit any moments mentioned this week.
We’re going to take next week off to get ahead on producing season three, and we’ve got a ton of great new segments and guests that we can’t wait to share with you. Stay safe out there, and we’ll see you right back here in two weeks!
Some pretty cool watches made their way into the studio over the last 50 episodes. There are way too many to include them all, but here are a few highlights from the archive.
